■3rd Person POV■

Today Nekoma's going to face Nohebi Tech in spring inter-high nationals. Y/N come to watch with Mami. They meet Alisa and Akane who also come to support the team.

Both team member line up, and then the game start. It was a very breathtaking game. Then the ball was touch by the Nekoma team but it was heading to the journalist area, Yaku runs after the ball and passes it back inside the court, saving it. The ball was hit to the opponent's side and Nekoma scored.

Everyone is cheering, so do Y/N. But when she looks back at where Yaku is, she was terrified as Yaku was being helped to walk by someone. His foot is injured.

Y/N: Yaku san!

Yaku looks up at Y/N, Y/N could feel that Yaku was holding the pain and regret. He's definitely frustrated to have injured himself at this moment.

Y/N felt like crying seeing Yaku's like that. She clenches her hands together, watching as Yaku being taken to the infirmary. She prays so that he will be alright.

Mami: he's gonna be alright, Nekoma will be alright.

Y/N hopes that she can help Yaku because he always helps her. Not long after Yaku came back but he stays on the bench for the rest of the game.

Yaku looks up at Y/N and gives her a reassuring smile that he's fine, but Y/N knows he's not fine. He's not fine because he can't play with his teammates.

Thankfully the game ended with Nekoma won. This means Yaku will have a chance to play with his mates again.

■Y/N's POV■

I walk out of the gym with Mami after chatting with Alisa san and Akane chan. On the parking lot, we saw the Nekoma team member are gathering around the bus, but they don't get on the bus yet.

Then Kuro san saw me and Mami, and waves. We walk closer to them and I greet them, Yaku san looks surprised.

Yaku: L/N, why are you still here?

Mami: I'm also here you know...

Yaku: ah yes, I mean you both...

Y/N: we were talking with Alisa san and Akane just now.

Suddenly Kuro san leans closer to me, and I was taken aback.

Kuro: L/N... you live close to Yaku right?

Y/N: uh... yes

Kuro: well, do you think you can go back home with Yaku in a cab? The bus will take us to school, but Yaku is injured so it's better if he goes straight back home

Yaku: oi Kuro! it's okay... don't listen to this gu-

Y/N: okay!

Yaku san was taken aback when I said yes. I want to be able to help Yaku san too, he always helps me around and I want to do the same for him too.

Mami: hurry up guys, I already stopped one for you guys

Yaku: whaa?

I don't know why but Yaku san looks flustered. Maybe he hoped that one of his teammates is the one who accompanies him. Lev kun brings Yaku san's bag and put it in the taxi.

Lev: hurry up Yaku san, are you too happy that you were glued to the- Auch! Are you even injured?

Yaku san hit Lev kun's back, but after doing it, he kind of stumbles a little, and I unconsciously move to hold Yaku san's arm.

Y/N: you alright Yaku san?

Yaku san looks at my way and, our face is really close to each other. I can see that Yaku san's face turns red and the same probably goes with me. Then Mami pushes me inside the Taxi, and not long after Yaku san was being pushed inside too by Kuro san.

Mami: be careful you two!

Kuro: please take them to this address, sir.

with that, the car starts to move, and we could see both Mami and Kuro is grinning and waving their hands from the side of the road.

Yaku: those two...

Y/N: uh... I'm sorry Yaku san, you probably want your teammate to accompany you right?

Yaku: No!

Yaku san's face is suddenly really close to mine again, and I can feel that the both of us are flustered by the closeness.

Yaku: I'm sorry... uh I mean, it's not like that... I'm just worried that you might have something to do... I, I'm happy to have you around... Thank you for accompanying me...

My heart is pounding inside my chest, I feel fuzzy. I'm sure I'm smiling by now.

Y/N: yes...

■Yaku's POV■

The taxi stops in front of my house, we get out of the taxi and its moves again. I was standing facing L/N, and she holds my bag for me, then I took it from her. I thank her for coming with me, I should be the one who drops her at her place.

Y/N: so you live here... it's really is not far from my place... well... Yaku san, I hope you'll get-

Yaku's mom: MORISUKE! are you alright?

Both L/N and I look at the source of that voice, there my mother is walking our way from inside the house. Mom was like inspecting me from up and down, asking what happened. I told her what happen and she scolds me a bit.

Yaku: I just sprained my foot... it's not that bad...

Yaku's mom: you should be more carefu- oh...

Mom finally realizes that I'm not alone. Y/N straightened her back and then bows at my mom.

Y/N: uh... good afternoon... I'm L/N Y/N... nice to meet you..

Yaku's mom: oh! why hello dear... are you Morisuke's girlfriend?

I can feel the blood rushed to my face and I look at Y/N, she's bright red by now. Not my friends or my mom, both like to put me in such a situation.

Yaku: Mom! it's not like that... L/N just helping me to get home... she lives nearby...

Y/N: uh... um yes... I live close by so... I think it would be fine if I come and make sure Yaku san gets home safely.... well uh, I'll take my leave then...

I look at her, she's leaving already? well, she's here because Kuro and the other made her to, but I hope I can spend more time with her.

Yaku's mom: please stop by at our place Y/N chan! is it alright if I call you Y/N?

I look at my mom and then back at L/N. My mother is now standing behind L/N and put her hands on her shoulder and pushes her to walk inside the house.

Yaku's mom: come one in...

Y/N: uh Yaku san needs someone to help him walk

Yaku's mom: oh yes I forgot, go on Y/N you can go first...

Mom holds onto my arm and then whispers.

Yaku's mom: you like her don't you? It's okay, I approve, she's very sweet..

Yaku: MOM!

I just finished showering and now walking while holding onto the wall, I'm In front of my room but I didn't open it right away. L/N is inside my room right now, I think I might die because of nervousness. I open the door to see L/N is sitting neatly on the rug. I came closer but not too close and sit on the rug next to her, it was kind of hard with my injured foot.

Y/N: uh Yaku san, you should sit on the bed, it must be hard to sit on the floor with that foot.

She looks so worried, and gosh I like how she looks when she's worried about me. Get yourself together Yaku Morisuke!

Yaku: no it's alright, I like to sit here anyway... um I'm sorry my mom makes you stay, you can leave if you want to you know...

Y/N: uh... I'm sorry, I know you need to rest huh.... it's just I'm pretty happy when your mother invited m-

Yaku: IT"S NOT LIKE THAT! I LIKE TO HAVE YOU IN HERE

wait.. Doesn't it sound weird? now her face is red again, how many times do I need to see her blush? she's so adorable my heart might explode.

Yaku: I mean... I'm happy you come to my house but, I'm afraid you have some other things to do...

Y/N: oh... no... I don't have any plan today... um so... is your foot really okay?

I straightened my legs and move my injured foot from side to side.

Yaku: it's only hurt a little...

Then I remember how I sat on the bench the entire game. I wish I could be more useful, why didn't I be careful enough today. It's so uncool.

Y/N: Yaku san...? are you alright

I look to the side, L/N is staring at me. She's genuinely worried, I want to look cool when she's around but today...

Yaku: no I'm fine... I just... feel like I'm useless today... it's so uncool, right?

L/N sits on her knees and she looks, angry? wait, are those tears in her eyes?

Yaku: L/N? WHA? What's wrong???

L/N clench the hem of her skirt and look down at the floor. What happens? did I say something that made her sad?

Yaku: L/N wha-

Y/N: Yaku san you are the coolest... (sobs)

I was startled when I heard what she said. She's sobbing, why is she crying?

Y/N: Yaku san you did your best to save the ball for your team, you are the coolest person on the court today... I'm worried... I thought it was really bad... so I really want to do something to cheer you up... but I think I can't do that... You always help me around, and I want to do that in return... I want to cheer you up... but sorry I'm crying instead...

I was stunned, she was having those thoughts in her mind all along? I could feel my chest is stuffed with fuzzy feelings at the sight of her. How could she be so beautiful even when she cries like this. Her words make me so happy. She didn't know that by being around me, she's already cheering me up.

I don't know what's taking me, I move closer and place a hand on her cheek as I wipe her tears away. L/N opens her eyes and she's stiffened by the touch of my hand on her cheek.

Y/N: Yaku... san...

Yaku: you already cheer me up you know... sorry for acting all gloomy like that...

I took a deep breath and give her the best smile I could give so she would stop worrying.

Yaku: with you around, I'm already cheered up

Y/N: Yaku san...

Those eyes, it feels like they're pulling me in. Just then

BAAAM

Yaku's mom: I brought you two some snacks!

I abruptly moved back from Y/N and my injured foot hit the table.

Yaku: AAAW

I rolled around the rug, why did I have to be so uncool when L/N's around.

Y/N: Ya-Yaku san! oh no...

Being around her, makes me want to look cool

But, she said I'm the coolest even when she saw me in such a vulnerable state...

Gosh L/N...

I do think I like you after all
